[Indoor Track & Field] Strong performances pace KWU Indoor Track teams at Fred Beile Classic

The Kansas Wesleyan indoor track teams had some strong performances as the Coyotes competed on Saturday at the Fred Beile Classic hosted by Doane University in Crete, Neb.

 

Stephanie Martinez (FR/Horizon City, Texas) had a second place finish for the Coyotes in the 1000m with a time of 3:19.71. Bailie Troll (JR/Peck, Kan.) was third in the race with a time of 3:22.77. The women's 4x800m relay team of Tabetha Deiners, Makenzie Tucker (FR/Grantville, Kan.), Troll and Martinez finished second with a time of 10:17.80.

 

In the 5000m run, Kaeori Giron (FR/El Paso, Texas) had a second place finish with a time of 15:56.63. Jacob Lovell (SO/Junction City, Kan.) finished second in the 3000m with a time of 9:11.56. Michael Sarafin (SR/Peyton, Colo.) finished seventh in the 800m with a time of 2:06.99.

 

Deines finished fifth in the 800m with a time of 2:27.89 and Tucker was tenth with a time of 2:30.55

Natalie Soukup (SO/Ellsworth, Kan.) placed 18th in the shot put with a throw of 11.34m.

 

In the 60m, Lane Peters (FR/Scandia, Kan.) was the top finisher for the Coyotes, placing tenth in the preliminaries with a time of 7.14, Elijah Davis (SO/Fort Worth, Texas) was 29th with a time of 7.38, Adam Schroeder (SO/Midlothian, Texas) was 41st with a time of 7.51 and Richard McCauley (FR/Edmond, Okla.) was 46th with a time of 7.65.

 

In the 200m, Peters finished 13th with a time of 23.59, Davis was 23rd with a time of 24.07, and Tyler Logan (SO/Loveland, Colo.) was 30th with a time of 24.69. Logan also placed 26th in the 400m with a time of 55.39.

 

Leonardo Terrazas (SO/Dumas, Texas) was 14th in the 3000m with a time of 10:11.35 and Grant Loewer (SR/Burden, Kan.) was 15th with a time of 10:14.92. In the mile, Loewer finished 17th with a time of 4:52.93, and Terrazas was 23rd with a time of 5:02.94.

 

Jonathan Samayoa (SO/Columbus, Neb.) placed 17th in the 600m with a time of 1:32.14 and Giron was 18th in the 1000m with a time of 2:46.17.

 

The men's 4x400m relay team placed 16th with a time of 3:43.30.

 

Up next for the Coyotes is the KCAC Championships on February 15-16 at Hughes Fieldhouse at Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Mo.
